Express entry
The Express Entry program is an online portal used by the Canadian government to organize and process applications from workers wishing to immigrate to Canada and obtain permanent resident status. The system comprises three programs:
- The skilled worker program.
- The skilled worker program.
- Canadian experience.
The Skilled Worker Program is administered under the Global Ranking System to rank applicants who wish to settle permanently in Canada. Under this program, candidates must obtain a minimum number of points. Candidates with the highest number of points will receive an invitation from the Canadian government.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR SKILLED WORKERS :
To be eligible for this program, candidates must meet a number of criteria
1. Age If you are under 18 and over 40, this criterion will not allow you to obtain maximum points. To obtain maximum points, your age must be between 18 and 35 with a language proficiency test in French and/or English.
2. Education level : Depending on the diploma you have obtained, you are awarded a certain number of points.
3. Professional experience : at least 12 months of continuous full-time qualified professional experience over the last 10 years (or equivalent part-time experience).

4. Language skills : At least 2C1 and 2C2 on the English and French language test.
5. Substantial evidence : This involves proving that they have sufficient funds to support themselves, their spouse and/or their children during their stay in Canada.
Please note that your file may be rejected if you have already committed murder or any other criminal act in your current country of residence or in your country of birth.
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is a program for people already working in Canada who wish to become permanent residents because of their skills in a skilled trade. Like all Express Entry programs, the Federal Skilled Trades Program uses the Global Ranking System (GRS) to rank interested applicants against each other and invite only the most competitive candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR THE SKILLED TRADES PROGRAM :
- At least two years' full-time work experience in an eligible trade.
- Minimum level of English or French.
- Have a full-time job offer for a total duration of at least one year; or have a certificate of qualification in your skilled trade issued by a province or territory.
The Canadian Experience Class is a program set up by the Canadian government to enable applicants with recent work experience in Canada to obtain permanent resident status. This program is also open to anyone who has worked in Canada and then moved.
SELECTION CRITERIA for the Canadian Experience Program :
At least one year of qualified professional experience in Canada :
- At least one (1) year of qualified experience in Canada
- Experience in a job with O, A or B skills
- Have worked with a work permit
- Have accumulated at least 1560 hours of work experience in Canada
Achieve the required proficiency level in English or French tests:
- Take an oral, listening, reading and writing test.
- A minimum score of CLB 7 if proficiency level is 0 or A
- A minimum score of CLB 5, if proficiency level B.
